Sophie Swim 2022

Lahaina Swim Club swimmers took part in the annual Sophie Swim race at Kahekili Beach Park in Kaanapali on August 28, 2022. Held by the Sophie DeLoria Foundation, the event attracted over 160 swimmers from all over the country. With a two-kilometer open ocean swim from the Airport Beach to the Black Rock and back, the event is a challenge even for seasoned swimmers.
Representing LSC were (in the finish order) Noah Caiserman, Jacob Gorokhovsky, Jake McGill, Emily Gorokhovsky, Eli Hazlet, Miranda Somers, and Muriel Hazlet. Also racing were Lahaina coaches Jack Pope, Gabby Lindblad, and Jen Wiseman. Noah Caiserman finished with the fastest overall time among all of the participants with the time of 26:06. It was a wonderful, warm, and fun event with lots of Aloha spirit. Thank you to Sue and JD DeLoria for their efforts in organizing it.
