Lahaina Swimmers Excel at Hawaii State Championships in Kihei

Lahaina Swim Club at Hawaiian Swimming State Championship in Kihei 2023

Lahaina Swim Club took part in the 2023 Hawaii Age Group Swimming Long Course Championships held at the Kihei Aquatic Center on July 14-17 2023. The team earned an impressive third place in the tournament that had 20 clubs and nearly 400 athletes competeting. Lahaina finished behind Kamehameha Swim Club and Hawaii Swimming Club and ahead of Aulea, Punahoe, Swim Kauai, Iolani, Splash, Maui Swim Club, Island Aquatics, and other teams at this well attended event.

In very tough competition against the state’s best swimmers, Lahaina’s first place event winners and Hawaii State Champions were Noah Caiserman (Boys 15-18 100 fly), Sacha Salem (Girls 13-14 1500 free, 200 free, 200 IM, 800 free, 400 free), Emily Gorokhovsky (Girls 13-14 100 fly), Eli Hazlet (Boys 13-14 400 free), Noah Heimer (Boys 11-12 50 free), and Kealani Aly (Girls 10 and under 100 back, 200 free, 50 back, 100 free, 400 free, 200 IM, 50 free).

Sacha Salem (Girls 13-14) and Kealani Aly (Girls 10 and under) were high point champions in their divisions.
